What really matters?

Our worship leader at Lifeline said something quite thought-provoking which I will try to paraphrase and expound on here. As you are sitting at the computer reading this, stop for a minute and completely zone out from your surroundings as best you can. Breathe slowly and think about this...what if these breathes you are taking are your last?

Go further. The next time you are really pissed off at a friend, your parents, or your sibling(s)...what if this was the last time you would talk to them? When you are feeling bored...what if this was your last day on earth?

What if you would live every moment like it was you last? Can you imagine the passion and fulfillment you would have in your life? Don't lose the opportunity to say "I Love You" to the people that mean something to you. Take advantage of every minute, nay every second to live a life full of fire for God! This is a hard thing to do, and I don't know anyone--myself included--that can do this to the fullest, except maybe Jesus. But I know this is a lifestyle I strive for.

Have you ever found yourself just thinking about heaven and eternity with God? I know I do. And the more I find myself thinking about it, the more my life falls into perspective. I have all of eternity to look forward to compared to the brief fleeting time here on earth. Shouldn't I use my days wisely and really put effort into the things that matter in the perspective of eternity? Makes me really think when I get down about something, or get stressed about a situation...does this REALLY matter?
